Q1: Who owns ABCR?
Atlantic Beach Casino Resort is an 8 unit, Saturday-Saturday, beachfront timeshare community located at Misquamicut Beach in Westerly, RI. The Resort is owned by its membership, the owners, of which there are currently 175. We are affiliated with Interval International.
Q2: Is ABCR open year round?
No. ABCR is a seasonal resort that opens around May 1st and closes the first week of November. We do this to avoid high operating costs during the winter months and to keep our maintenance fees affordable for our owners.
Q3: As a non-member can I rent a condo unit from the Homeowners Association (HOA)?
Possibly. June thru most of September our units are owned and occupied by our members. Any rentals during that time period must go through the owners themselves. Periodically during the off peak months (May and October) the HOA may have a few units available for weekly rentals. There is a 7 day minimum stay.
The HOA does NOT rent units during the peak summer months, June thru September.
Q4: I am staying a week at your Resort. What is included in my maintenance fee?
Your maintenance fee includes all bed dressings, towels and start up toiletries and supplies, such as paper towels, toilet paper, dish soap, etc … There is easy access to stores nearby (Walmart, Stop and Shop, etc …) when you need to restock for your stay.
Q5: Is there a pool on-site for my family to enjoy?
Yes, we do have a 20 x 30 heated indoor pool for your enjoyment. The maximum pool depth is 5 foot with a lower end for the younger kids. We are looking to add a hot tub in 2022.
Q6: Does ABCR have its own private beach?
Yes. The land that our buildings sit on is owned by the HOA. Our beach is private and can be enjoyed by our membership and their immediate family throughout the year.
Q7: Are there slot machines or gaming tables onsite?
No. The name originates back to the early 1950’s when the word “casino” meant a meeting place. The original Atlantic Beach Casino Resort was next door where the Windjammer now resides.
Q8: What time is check in/checkout?
Check in is on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. Check out is the following Saturday by 11:00 a.m. Our units are not accessible until our housekeeping crew has completed their duties for the day.
Q9: Is there onsite parking for my vehicles?
According to the HOA bylaws, there is parking for ONE (1) vehicle onsite. Additional vehicles may park in the Westerly Town lots adjacent to our property. During the peak months our staff can assist by selling your family member a weekly parking pass for $130, of which $100 will be returned at the end of your stay when you return the pass to our office manager.
Q10: Where can I get information regarding “buying in” to the ABCR community?
